The work included everything from membership brochures to ballot analysis documents to an extensive, full-color, sewn-binding book, Vision of a Place, which illustrated the San Francisco General Plan using graphics, maps, and extensive archival photography. Along the way, we established their graphic standards and eventually composed a guide, to be used in-house and with other designers. We began working with the organization just after it was founded in 2000. Using their existing logo, we developed a coherent graphic identity system across a wide array of materials. Patrick has been a fan of Helvetica since childhood, and this was an opportunity to use it at its coolest, cleanest best. We designed and produced their Mobility Messenger newsletter for the entirety of its run, from 2001 to 2004. We created postcards and door-hangers to help City CarShare promote their services as they expanded into new neighborhoods and cities. In 2002 we redesigned their website to match their graphic identity. In the process we created a visual language for their location maps, which we continued to produce until 2006.
